Is this Blog-worthy?

Squeeze Inn crowd

The object of our desire...burger with melted-cheese skirt

Burger & Accoutrements

Can hardly make it fit

After-meal glow
The excuse was that, "It's on the way [to pick up some touch-up paint for the Hyundai]." So, we headed to the world-renowned (in Sacramento anyway) Squeeze Inn to try out their infamous Cheese-skirted Hamburger.

Had to wait a bit to order; however, the line moved quickly with the help of a very nice lady taking orders up the line. Then, all we had to do was pay at the register.

Notorious-3 female was "on-it" and snagged us a booth pronto.  Waited a while longer for the food, drooling at others already burgering-down.  Very friendly staff brought order to the booth and also retrieved implements for us to cut & eat with.

Lots of fries--they were OK.  Burgers were almost too large to fit in our mouths.  Cheese skirt was a little too well done for our tastes.  Hamburger was your basic hamburger--good to the last bite.  The last pic tells it all!

Nothn' But Grey...

Valley Grey

Now this is what I am talking about!
Been foggy and overcast the past few weeks...but hey, that's the Sacramento Valley this time of year.

Had to get out of it--went up to the place--3500 ft elevation. It was SO NICE up there!

May-be cabin fever?

Work Happens...

Back to work after the holiday break.  Not much time for recreation, cookin', or creativity.  Might have to start blogging about work stuff.

"Exciting" mid-week highlights...
  • Facilitated a fantastic lesson on "Inference" with my AVID 7th-8th graders.  Not surprising (by design), they didn't know what loons were...Loony!  Yes!  One of them did mention Wisconsin.  And knew it was one of the lower 48.
  • Did 3 mile loop around neighborhood on Monday PM on the Commuterciser.
  • Latest read--Historical fiction of early CA, "Angel of the Gold Rush" by local SLO author B.J. Scott.  Pretty interesting thus far.  Nice to be able to place the eastern Sierra and Mother Lode locales.
  • Did 6 mile loop Gold River to Nimbus and back this afternoon. Commuterciser too!
  • Made a couple of fabulous mixed green salads and grilled a pair of NY beefs.

Commuterciser Bike Mods

Installed new side-view mirror and pannier rack

Moved tail-light from seat-post mount
New features added to the mountain bike for health and safety.  The Mirror was easy to install with included Allen wrench.  The Rack was a little more complicated.  I ended up using sturdier mounting hardware, and had to craft a tail-light bracket since the one supplied was only meant for a reflector.

The tail-light bracket was a basic Home Depot $.82 corner bracket--cut, drilled, and painted.

Now if will stop raining for a bit, I might actually get out to ride!
